Prep Cook / Part Time / Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays 6PM-10PM
We are looking for an individual who wants to join our very small team, work part - time in an open kitchen, enjoys live music and interacting with the public.Hourly salary based on experience starting at $13 for first three months + pool tips - then $15 an hour + tips One free meal per shift / One after shift free drink.Free admission to all PAUSA shows when off-duty with a 20% employee discount towards food & drinks.Working at PAUSA is a fun and easy way to supplement your income while working in a clean, healthy and inspiring environment filled with music and creative people.
You’ll be able to contribute in preparing unusual and delicious food and beverage pairings that reflect our Mediterranean /Spanish focus on panini sandwiches, tapas and small plates while hearing some great music from local, national and international artists in a intimate setting ( 60 customers).
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE will be quick and diligent and willing to improve on the job. You will be deft and able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen. Will be able to function in a fast-paced environment, have great communication skills. Comfortable with quick learning basic POS skills, some knowledge of wine and beer to help serve when needed. You’ll perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up two workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow the prep list and recipes
Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking.
Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
Undertake basic cooking duties such as assembling tapas and paninis, maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, cleaning around work station
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
Monitor food stock and notify manager when there are shortages.
Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines, interact with customers, take orders and serve.
Present and explain food menu to guests and nurture an excellent guest experience.
Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
End of shift sanitation of customer tables, clean around chairs and tables, mop spills if necessary.
REQUIRENMENTS:
Experience in using cutting tools and cookware Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.) Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
Ability to work in a team.
Very good communication skills
High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
Prior experience as prep cook is preferred
